Family first, always
Made for curious kids. Loved by thoughtful parents.
What KathaKahania does, and does not do, with your child’s reading.
Parent-managed profiles
Children never sign in. A parent can add a nickname profile for each child so each has their own bookmarks and stars.
English first
Other languages appear only after a fluent reviewer has approved the translation.
Learning without pressure
Stories, choices and gentle quizzes. Stars are for finishing and trying again, never for streaks.
Reviewed before it is public
A person approves every story before anyone can read it. Drafts are never shown.

Family story night
A tradition worth sharing.
Pause at the end of a story, ask what your child thought, and revisit the tales that shaped your own childhood.

Questions we hear often
For parents: the facts
Straightforward answers about how KathaKahania works today.
Stories are reviewed before anyone can read them
A story goes public only after a reviewer and a different publisher have approved it. Drafts are never shown here.
English first, other languages only when reviewed
KathaKahania always opens in English, whatever your device language is. A language is offered for a story only after a fluent reviewer has approved that translation; until then you see English with a note.
Stars and trophies stay on your device
Stars, trophies and the choices a child tried are saved in this browser (or this app) only, separately for each reader profile, and are not sent anywhere.
Anonymous counts for everyone, and you can switch them off
We count how often a story is started or finished, in which language and on what kind of device. Nothing says who you are: no name, no account, no device ID, so a returning visitor is not recognised and no suggestions are made. Small groups are never shown to anyone. Your browser’s Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting is respected.
Suggestions, only if a parent chooses
A parent with an account can tick “suggest stories we might like” when signing up, or later in My account. Then that account remembers which stories it opened, finished and came back to, and we suggest similar ones. Nothing about a child is asked or kept. It is off until you switch it on, you can see all of it, and switching it off or deleting your account deletes it. Staff see only totals for groups of 10 or more accounts.
Parent accounts, no child logins
Free stories need no account. Stories marked “Free account required” open with a free parent account: an email, a password, and your confirmation that you are an adult. Children have no logins. Inside your account you can add up to six reader profiles: a nickname (not a real name), an age band and an animal picture, with their own bookmarks. No birth date, name or contact detail is asked for a child. Deleting a profile deletes its bookmarks and history. Stories marked “Premium” also need access granted by an administrator; there is no way to buy it and no payment is taken anywhere. You can delete your account and its data yourself from your account page.
Reading offline
Open a story and choose “Save for offline” to read it later without internet. Saved copies are checked for damage and show their language and version.
